If you use a search engine for “How do I get a free Harvard Education”, you’ll find Harvard lets you do this. You won’t get credit, but you’ll get the knowledge. That in itself is astounding. And Harvard isn’t alone. Search for just about any top 100 university and you can find they’re offering courses too. For instance: Yale, Columbia, Penn, Princeton, Rice, UCLA, University of Michigan. See? Now, AI is advancing education to the next level.
Colleges and graduate programs are leveraging AI not just to streamline operations but to pioneer research, making leaps previously constrained by human bandwidth. The ability for large language models (LLMs) to process hundreds of thousands to millions of tokens (Claude 3, Gemini Pro 1.5)- meaning they can scan hundreds of thousands of words each second - brings answers to just about any questions that can be asked. It’s the ultimate cliff notes tool, teaching aid and human knowledge resource. It’s where there’s an emerging utopia between education and AI. If the knowledge has been digitized, Researchers, Educators and Students can propose new questions and get answers that might at one point have taken months, instantly. For students, AI's role morphs into that of a global connector and career oracle, offering insights and access previously unimaginable.
High Schools
High school educators, previously jugglers of diverse curricular demands, now find in AI a co-pilot capable of navigating each student's unique educational landscape. This is where AI's promise shines brightest: enhancing human capability, not replacing it.
